Ukiyo-e woodblock printing demonstration

As an event related to the Exhibition "Ukiyo-e Theater from Paris", we will hold demonstrations of ukiyo-e woodblock printing. Numerous ukiyo-e prints are used by Danny Rose Studio to create "SPIRIT of JAPAN". These colorful ukiyo-e are made of woodblock prints. Many colored plates are rubbed accurately in order to they do not shift, and in many cases, they are laid 20 to 30 times. You can also enjoy the texture of the paper and the traces of moving baren, which you cannot see in SPIRIT of JAPAN.

Why don't you take a closer look at the ukiyo-e printing? It is your opportunity to see the making process of ukiyo-e with interpretations. This is an event that further expands the appeal of woodblock prints that you may or may not have known before.

The demonstration will be held at the first-floor foyer, in front of the Grand Gallery at no charge.
